We know you may have questions about the upcoming closure of Treecard. Below you’ll find answers to the most common ones.
Why is Treecard closing?
After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Treecard.
While we’re incredibly proud of the impact this community has created, we’ve reached a point where we’re no longer able to continue operating Treecard in a sustainable way and now is the right time to say goodbye.
When will Treecard shut down?
Treecard will remain available for a short period to allow users to use the app and make a final impact:
Important dates:
March 16, 2026 - Closure announcement
March 31, 2026 - Final billing cycle for Chip-In and Round-Up
April 15, 2026 - Final day to use the app and redeem rewards
April 16, 2026 - Treecard shuts down and accounts close
After April 16, the app will no longer be available.
What should I do before the app closes?
Before April 15, 2026, we recommend that you:
Redeem any points in your account through the rewards store
Use any remaining features you’d like to access in the app
What will happen to the rewards store?
As Treecard winds down, the rewards store will move to a limited final catalogue.
Some partner rewards may become unavailable or offered in limited quantities as we approach the closure date.
To help make one final impact together, you can also use your points to support environmental projects such as:
🌳 Funding trees
♻️ Removing plastic bottles from the ocean
Partner rewards are available while supplies last.
What happens to my points if I don’t use them?
If you still have points remaining after April 15, 2026, they will automatically be used to plant trees.
Can I withdraw my points as cash?
No. Treecard points do not have a cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
Points can only be used within the rewards store before the closure date.
What happens to Chip-In and Round-Up subscriptions?
If you are enrolled in Chip-In or Round-Up, your final billing cycle will take place at the end of March 2026.
Your final contribution will still go directly toward planting trees.
No further subscription charges will occur after this date, and you do not need to take any action.
What happens to Superwalker subscriptions?
If you purchased an annual Superwalker subscription, any remaining time will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
What will happen to my Treecard account?
After April 16, 2026, your Treecard account will be closed and access to the app will no longer be available.
