What is Chip-In?

Since Treecard doesn't run advertisements or charge fees, we rely on your generous support. You can choose to chip-in when you first open your Treecard account, as well as any time in Settings. πŸ’š

With chip-in, you not only support Treecard, but also boost your personal impact! 30% of each monthly subscription payment is sent to one of impact partners, which you choose when you sign-up.

How do I sign up?

To sign up for chip-in, you must first securely connect your bank account. The easiest way to do this is by enabling our Spend feature, which also gives you rewards for sustainable purchases.

Once your account is connected, you will see a screen that looks like this:


Simply slide the scale to set your payment at whatever you like. If you would like to not be part of our chip-in program, simply slide the bar at zero! βš–οΈ.

If you missed this screen initially or would like to opt-in later, you can do this:

  1. In the Treecard app, open your settings βš™οΈ in the upper right-hand corner of the home page

  2. Scroll down to app, then tap on Chipping in

  3. Select Start Chipping in, and set your monthly subscription!


Note: You must have a linked bank account to complete this action.

How will my payment be made?

When you voluntarily opt-in to our chip-in program, you can set your subscription amount on a sliding scale from $0-$20. We truly appreciate whatever you can contribute, even if it's only $1 per month! πŸ’š

On the 28th of each month, your chosen payment source will be charged your chip-in subscription. We will send out an email notification 5 days prior to give you plenty of heads up. βœ‰οΈ

How to Cancel Chip-in:

You can cancel your monthly chip-in contribution as follows:

  1. In the Treecard app, open your settings βš™οΈ in the upper right-hand corner of the home page

  2. Navigate to Chipping in

  3. Select Stop chipping in

  4. Confirm Yes, stop chipping in

  5. To refund please select: Yes, cancel and refund me

If you are not seeing the option to initiate a refund, please reach out to our support team at [email protected], so we can assist you.

Important Note ⚠️:

You must complete cancel your subscription before the 26th of the month to stop this month's payment.

As payment is done through automatic bank withdrawal, your bank will automatically transfer the payment on the 28th, if it is not cancelled prior to the 26th.

We will always refund you if you request it, but this can take up to 14 days to complete.
